Emergency procedures
In the light of the Covid-19 outbreak, working practices, how they are managed and where activities are completed have changed.
Within the current guidelines, employers are asked to identify activities and scenarios where social distancing (and other Covid-19 control measures) cannot be applied.
This impacts emergency procedures where a balance between the immediate risk to life and the possible one of spreading the virus needs to be considered.

What do I need to do?
As an employer, immediate threats to employee safety (such as a fire or bomb threat) could take priority over other risk control measures including Covid-19.
It is likely that emergency procedures need to be reviewed against what is put in place to tackle Covid-19, identifying any situations where these two processes conflict and demonstrating that it is understood what takes priority and in what situation.
